Hypersonic Design

so stuck up

…pause in the action.  We’ve got 2 more days with the big (and expensive!) 80 foot atrium lift to hoist up our I-beam and chain winch, and then we’ll be finished with the high aerial work and we can start hanging the panels.  Curtis was in Saturday morning to run the machine and take care of a few cleaning tasks in preparation for our last days with the lift.

fizzle fizzle, crack, sputter, smoke rising.  Uh oh, the lift is dead, the lift is dead.   Curtis managed to have somebody manually swing the boom over to the 3rd floor balcony and climb out (not recommended!)  But that’s about it.   We were unable to fix it after playing around with a few things.  Seems to be a control system failure.  So, the technician is flying down from New Jersey tonight.  All fingers are crossed that he can actually fix the lift.  Personally, I put his odds of success at around 10%.  Arrrgh, so close.

So, we’re likely looking at a delay of at least a few days.  If it is several days, I may be headed home to a retreat in Brooklyn.

For now, it is just a tour of Raleigh’s coffee shops while I try to finish up the Organograph proposal.
